Why Are These Sydney’s Best Croissants?

Why Are These Sydney’s Best Croissants?

It’s a big call, to say you bake Sydney’s best croissants, and we don’t make this claim lightly!

In fact, our croissants – our most popular pastry – are one of our favourite opportunities to get really creative, as there are so many different and delicious flavour combinations which work spectacularly on that flaky, buttery pastry canvas.

There’s something about that contrast between the crispy outside of the croissant and the soft, fragrant and juicy inside – whether it’s pear and rhubarb, or almond butter – which make our croissants truly irresistible.

When you get down to it, however, what we believe makes our croissants Sydney’s best croissants, can be summed up in three points:

1) Sydney’s Yummiest Almond Butter = Sydney’s Best Croissants

The filling for each of our croissants starts with our sinfully delicious almond butter.  High quality almond meal, butter, sugar, egg and cornflour are all that go into creating this creamy confection – no preservatives or additives and nothing artificial.

To this we add fruit or cocoa to create a divine filling that contributes in a big way to securing the title of Sydneys best croissants – but it all starts with the almond butter!

2) We’re (more than) Generous with Toppings  sydney's best croissants

There’s nothing worse than ordering any pastry in a cafe – Almond Croissant, Blueberry Muffin, Strawberry Tart – and waiting in suspense for your treat to be brought to your table only to realise, when it arrives, that when they said Blueberry, they meant singular, not plural.

On the other hand, we top Sydneys best croissants with an incredibly generous, thick layer of topping – toasty flaked almonds, crunchy crumbed walnuts or creamy chocolate ganache – all held in place with yet more delicious almond butter and dusted with icing sugar.

3) They’re Big Enough to Share

Our croissants are generously portioned so you can definitely share one between two people, without feeling like you’ve missed out.

For this reason, they’re incredibly good value – buying four or five and slicing them delicately on the diagonal will allow you to create a stunning and generous platter for morning tea, sprinkled with fresh berries to create a visually appealing sweet feast!

4) They’re Easy to Reheat at Home!

Simply…

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (i.e. medium)
  2. Place croissants on grease proof paper-lined baking tray
  3. Heat for 8 minutes, then remove from oven, open and carefully test temperature inside.
  4. Return to oven for a few minutes more if required
  5. Serve alone or with ice cream on the side!
