Have You Tried Kaleslaw Yet?

Wondering what on earth Kaleslaw is?  The clue is in the name.

We’ve taken our favourite gourmet coleslaw recipe and added shredded kale, which (in addition to being hugely fashionable right now) is also quite literally one of the healthiest things you can eat.  20161109_144027

Kale is low in calories, high in fibre and has zero fat. One cup of kale has only 36 calories, 5 grams of fibre and ZERO grams of fat. It is great for aiding in digestion and elimination and is packed FULL of iron, vitamin K and A and antioxidents.  It would almost be easier to run through the health benefits kale doesn’t offer – it’d make for a much shorter list!

Our Kaleslaw is generously drizzled in a house-made dressing starring Italian red wine vinegar, and is liberally sprinkled with flaxseeds, pepitas and sunflowers seeds for extra crunch and good fats.

We came up with this delicious salad to serve alongside our gourmet pies and sausage rolls at our bakery cafes in Westfield Eastgardens, Narellan Town Centre and Castle Towers as well as at a selection of our Farmer’s Markets – initially Parramatta Farmers Markets and Sutherland Shire Markets.
